Well, today is my birthday...but I'm not sharing which year I was born in. Yes, it was that long ago! Going out to lunch with my friends and daughters so that will be nice. I have been working on a design for some Halloween bibs, hope to get those posted soon.

New Baby Items at Sky Girl Styl

I have been bitten by the sewing bug again, and have been busy making baby blankets, plush toys, headbands and flower barrettes/pins.

Here is my version of a minkie blanket (made with luxurious minkie plush fabric)

My Minkie...sure to become your little one's favorite thing to bring along.

So far I have made two styles: a taggie with ribbon tag around all 4 sides and a "drag" style with 1 ribbon loop for dragging the blanket

I can just see a tussle headed little boy dragging this blanket after him with the ribbon tag. And it's handy for hanging onto the stroller too!

Back to School

The boys started back to school this week and it's time for me to finally figure out this blog thing! I have joined the wonderful, supportive group of etsymoms. Garden Inspiration

Here are a few pictures of my gardens...I can always find inspiration for colors and design out here. From my studio window I look down on the garden with the birdhouse and roses which are just gorgeous right now. Everything is in full bloom, at least until those pesky Japanese beetles show up and destroy everything in sight!

Chalcedony Faceted Briolette and Aqua Rondelle Necklace

Chalcedony faceted briolettes in beautiful blue and apple green are featured in this necklace from Sky Girl Style.

Faceted rondelles of aqua are paired with the Chalcedony for a look that is light and fresh. Seed beads have been used as spacers and a Swarovski crystal sparkles on the end of the sterling silver extender chain. A sterling silver lobster clasp has been used for the closure.

Swarovski Crystal Pyramid Bracelet

I call this the Pyramid bracelet because the 8mm top drilled Swarovski crystals in Jet remind me of little pyramids popping up from the bracelet.

Running through the middle of the bracelet are AB Swarovski crystals and along the edges are 4mm bicones in Jet AB.

Bali Sterling Silver spacer beads and a Sterling Silver toggle clasp finish the bracelet.

Before the Blog

This is my first foray into the world of blogs. I wonder where the word blog comes from to begin with.
Anyway, I am a stay at home mother of 4 (2 out of the nest and 2 still in the nest). I love to create and try different techniques and crafts. This blog is for my Shop on etsy called Sky Girl Style. I was a flight attendant for 29 years (retired now...YEA!)...which is how I came up with the name of my shop.
