RoseWorksJewelry-Featured Blogger for Janurary

Congratulations to Ruthiee of RoseWorksJewelry. She is a bead weaver extrodinare and an ambitious one to boot! She runs two shops on etsy, RoseWorksJewelry and kstreasures .
This necklace is just one of the many pieces of jewelry in her shop.

It's a New Year!

Happy New Year to one and all! I have several resolutions: learn something new, exercise more, take care of myself as a woman, and Shop To Earn! For my etsy shop, Sky Girl Style, I plan on adding new items and renewing items more often, participating in the events of all the teams I am on with etsy and to stop spending time surfing the net and get down to business!!

I think those are all reasonable goals, don't you? But the one I am most excited about is ShopToEarn. I am very excited to own an Internet business that pays us to shop online from all the retailers that we already shop from, yet I am even more excited and grateful to do my part in making our world a better place environmentally by buying products from all the green conscious companies in ShopToEarth, the sister site of ShopToEarn.

The possibilities are amazing! Target, Victoria's Secret, Dick's, Best Buy, Staples, Macy's, Drugstore.com....the list of stores you can shop from and earn cash back from while doing it goes on and on. And I am going to re-direct my shopping dollars to more enviromentally friendly products like shampoo, lotions, paper towels...by shopping at ShopToEarth.

Traditions of Thanksgiving

HUMMM, it seems like the traditions of Thanksgiving vary with different stages of life. When I was a child, it was going over to my Grandparents house. When I started flying, it was always flying. I spent the first Thanksgiving I was flying in San Francisco. The entire FA crew was out of my class - 3 weeks of experience. Talk about deer in the headlights. But we had fun even though we were away from home. Now We either have Thanksgiving at my house or a relative's house. When it is at my house, the best tradition is my husband ALWAYS does the turkey, he either smokes it or deep fries it. YUMM! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

bfbeads - Featured etsyblogger for October

This month's featured etsyblogger is Jen of Baby Friendly Beads. She has created a line of necklaces and bracelets for the nursing mother. I find that quite fitting for the month of October, Breast Awareness Month.
Her necklaces feature big and bold designs that babies would love to grasp and hold while nursing. Makes me long for the days when my 4 were still babies!
Visit her etsy shop to see her creations: bfbeads

Beyond the Blue

The Carnival theme this week is to blog about anything to do with your work (past, present or future) which is outside of Etsy. That's a super easy one for me...I am a retired flight attendant.
Sometimes I wonder where the time went. I can still remember certain flights, people and places like yesterday, but the time factor is just a blurb. ( I took early retirement).
I do miss going to Europe every weekend. Most of the time it was just a 24 hr layover, so I either went out and started exploring right away or "crashed". I wasn't one of those who could nap for 3 hrs and then get up and go out and stay out until night time.
One time I had a 2 day layover in Dublin and remember looking around the table that evening in the pub and thinking I am tired of you people, I want to go home. So I tried not to do long layovers again.
Now I enjoy creating items for my etsy shop, watching my boys play sports, talking with my daughters and gardening.

Autumn is Officially Here

Hi Ya'll, it's fall! Such a beautiful time of the year. The oppressive heat and humidity of summer are gone and now it's gorgeous outside! Open windows, cool nights for sleeping, GA football...GO DAWGS!!!!
One of my favorite memories of fall is raking the leaves into big piles and jumping into them over and over again. Now that I'm grown, I realize it was a trick to get us to help with the yard work, but that's okay, it was fun.

My Favorite Color

I just LOVE color. If I had to pick one favorite color, it would be blue, or wait, maybe red, green, TURQUOISE, pink, AQUA,...you can see my problem. Bold and bright, cool and calming, color is a design element that allows you to express yourself. So for the moment, I'll go with blue. www.skygirlstyle.etsy.com
