Graduation Time

This has been a busy month for me...I had a daughter graduate from the University Of Georgia (in 4 yrs and kept the Hope Scholarship all 4 years!!) We are so proud of her and now she is going to get her masters.
After a trip to the Carribean, she will work in Athens and go to school in the fall. Here are a few pics from her party we gave to celebrate her accomplishment...she's on the right in the pics.

Diamonds and Daisies

Some people think of Diamonds and Daisies as the birthstone and flower for April. I have another take on it...Baseball!!!! (Baseball Diamond and Daisies in the outfield). I probably wouldn't be so enthuastic about it if my son, Christopher, was not playing baseball. He LOVES it. His team is the Creekview Grizzlies 5the grade travel team, a feeder for the high school team. He has lots of fun and I enjoy watching him and the others play. I am the Concession Mom this season, so lots of extra activity there. Here are a few pictures of the boys...

Tornado Weekend

This past weekend was a whopper! Strong storms rolled through the Atlanta area with tornados, hail, strong winds, destruction and death. It's so sad to think of the people that lost their life during the storms. How horrifying to be flung through the air or have your house collapse on you. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who suffered from the tornados.

My family and I were lucky, we spent the better part of Saturday in the basement. At one point you could hear the "train" roaring not too far away from us, but we were not hit directly. And the hail, it looked like someone had dumped ice chests out all over the place!

Mother Nature is full of surprises and you have to be in awe of the power of storms like these. Reminds us we are not in charge and to be grateful and thankful for all God has given us.

Peaches vs. H2o, Part 2

A big to do about nothing! For all their hype, you would have thought more would have happened than dipping up a little water and peach juice flying out of a can. It didn't even make the news as far as I know. The morning mess on Star 94 is just that, a mess!

Peaches versus Water

The great debate continues...I heard on Star 94 this morning that the mayor of Chattanooga, TN brought 2000 bottles of H2O to the GA capital yesterday, and the delivery man was dressed as Davy Crocket. Of course, it was "all in good fun" according to the report.

Well, the new morning DJ's on STAR 92 couldn't let that go unanswered. So this morning they were planning to take a helicopter, fly up to the GA/TN border, and scoop water out of the TN river with a bucket hanging from the heilcopter and bring the water back to GA. On top of that they were going to drop canned peaches into TN.

For those of you unaware, GA is in a severe drought and there seems to be some dispute on where the actual border between the 2 states lies. It just so happens to be along the river and GA wants that part of the river returned to GA.

I'll be listening to the radio today and let you know what happens...

Buzzing With the Booties

I purchased a bootie pattern from a fellow etsian fron England, greenjelly.etsy.com. I have been obsessed with making them and each pair turns out cuter than the last. She warned me they were addictive and they are! I even went on a fabric shopping spree to get more great fabric to use to make them.

Now I am going to make matching bootie and bib sets. The bib pattern is my own design, altered a bit from other bibs in my shop. Here are some of the booties:
